Craft Your Own Patina Scarf: A Masterclass in Texture & Color
Elevate your knitting skills and craft a luxurious, versatile accessory in our workshop dedicated to Nina Holubcova’s Patina Scarf. Designed for knitters of all skill levels, this project pairs fine fingering-weight merino with variegated silk mohair held double, creating a luminous, haloed watercolor effect against a crisp, geometric rib pattern.
In this workshop, you will learn to navigate the scarf’s signature point-to-point construction, master its fully reversible wavy rib texture, and execute the clever slit openings for an elegant pull-through detail.
What You’ll Learn:
-
Yarn Combination Techniques: How to comfortably work holding two strands together (merino + mohair) to achieve depth and halo.
-
Reversible Textures: Reading and working the alternating wavy rib pattern to ensure clean, reversible results.
-
Seamless Construction: Shaping from point to point with neat selvedge edges, increases, and decreases.
-
Clever Details: Splitting and rejoining stitches to create the optional pull-through keyhole opening.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate (must know basic knit and purl).
